Welcoming Laura Brighton to the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce

The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome Laura Brighton as the new Director of Events. Laura is responsible for annual events such as the Chamber Annual Dinner, Golf Classic, Key Leadership Welcome Dinner, the Small Business EXPO, and coordinating ribbon cuttings, monthly Rush Hour Connect events, and working with the Chamber Ambassadors. Laura is experienced in both event planning and the not-for-profit sector as she most recently served as the Special Events Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland. Her outgoing personality and passion for planning events make her the perfect fit.

Onboard since January, Laura has already planned and held several ribbon cuttings, three Rush Hour Connect events, and the annual Key Leadership Welcome Dinner. Laura is currently in full swing (no pun intended), getting ready for the Chamber’s 30th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, June 27, 2022.

Laura is a Siouxland native. During her time at Hinton High School, she participated in volleyball, basketball, track, softball, DECA (an organization for students interested in business and marketing), and the National Honor Society. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing Communications with a minor in Sports Administration from Simpson College. While at college, she completed several internships in Siouxland, a testament to her strong work ethic.

At Simpson, Laura was also a Wesley Service Scholar leader, a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) secretary, and was inducted into the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.

Let’s get to know Laura better. She loves country music and tacos. Her most memorable vacation was in Minneapolis with her dad and brother watching the Minnesota Twins and then going to the Mall of America. Laura’s middle name is Shiuvaunne. She completed college in just three years! And she says this about working at the Chamber, “I’m honored to be at the Chamber, working with a great group of professionals. I’m excited to continue to do what I love, planning events, and I look forward to meeting new people and building relationships.” Please join us at an upcoming event to meet Laura!
